Tim studies him a moment longer before moving back and placing a chilled hand on Jason’s side to steady him. “Alright,” he says, “steady breaths.” And pierces the needle through Jason’s skin. It’s a sharp pain that has Jason gritting his teeth no matter how many times he does it. Still though, the pull on his skin from the thread isn’t enough to draw his attention away from the hand Tim has pressed into his side. Each finger is a steady point of coolness against his warmed skin, he wonders if Tim runs cold. Maybe he has poor blood circulation or maybe it’s because he’s so damned skinny. Jason can think of a few ways to help Tim warm up. Tim's hair hangs over his eyes. It's getting long again. Long enough for Jason to fantasize about brushing it behind Tim's ear. Or grabbing a fistful of it and pulling his head back to expose his slender neck. Jason licks his lips. Jason has to keep his head turned if he wants to watch Tim at all, staring down at him out of the corner of his eyes so he can watch Tim work. He can’t quite see the needle or the wound but he can feel it well enough. Feel the burn and sting, feel the tips of Tim’s fingers brushing his skin. Jason lets his eyes roam over what he can see of Tim as he lets the feeling of Tim’s hands wash over him. He traces the slope of Tim’s neck, cataloging every nick and mark he can see. Unfortunately he can’t quite see the scar that he gave Tim himself. A mark proving that, at some point, Jason had been there. Had laid claim to Tim’s skin. Had been all Tim had thought about, for a time. God, he’s the worst. He shouldn’t think about pinning small, young, terrified but vicious Tim beneath him with anything but guilt. But with blood in his teeth and fire in his eyes Jason’s not sure he’s ever seen someone more beautiful. Jason just wishes he had been with it enough at the time to properly appreciate the sight

He literally killed the Joker for Jason! Which is pretty romantic when you think about it. (Well, okay. He didn't kill the Joker /specifically/ for Jason. But he'd written “no more dead robins” in the Joker's blood on the wall. And Jason was currently Robin so... He basically killed the Joker for Jason.) And sure, murder is wrong and bad and whatever. But Jason can appreciate the sentiment. He might even appreciate the sentiment a little too much. No big deal. He could be sooo normal about it. (Save for that time immediately following the event where he tracked Tim down in crime alley in civies and, staring up at him with all the reverence of a boy who's just had someone kill for him, said “you killed the Joker? For me?” And Tim, holding his brown paper bag of groceries with his stupid douchy sunglasses looking like he'd rather be literally anywhere else on earth, had said “I didn't do it for /you/. It was just. The principal of the thing. If there's going to be a Robin, Joker can't be trusted. I just took him out of the equation.” And he was kinda sweaty and too pale and Jason knew he was hiding horrendously deep bags behind the sunglasses but he still said “I think I'm in love with you.” To which Tim had turned an interesting shade of pink before dropkicking Jason and absconding as quickly as he could possibly could.)
