Finished painting for the cover of Vincent Neyt’s PhD on @stephenking.bsky.social's It. Rather than basing it on one of the adaptations’ Pennywise designs, I wanted to create a combination of the clowns mentioned in the book: Bozo, Ronald McDonald & Clarabell.

Creating a little animated visual using elements inked by hand is something I had wanted to try. The music video “Johnny and the Devil” we made with WanQing Wang at Matte! Nande? being selected for a film festival called "Spookfest" seemed like a good reason to play with ink and brush 👻

Whale Sneakers - would you buy a pair?

I aim to play more with traditional techniques in my animations, and to practise watercolors more. So I combined these two goals to clean up a walkcycle I animated with our former intern Jil Siu.
