Snocaps - "Snocaps"
I didn't know anything about Katie Crutchfield/Waxahatchee six months ago. Turns out, she's pretty good at music! Really enjoyed this and the latest Waxahatchee album - need to check out her earlier stuff.

Jenny Lewis - Joy'All
Nothing terribly remarkable here, just another solid Jenny Lewis album.

Tame Impala - Deadbeat
There's no instant earworm like "The Less I Know the Better" here, but it's still a pretty decent record. Kevin Parker has such a unique sound. Need to check out more of his stuff.

Deftones - White Pony
Favorite track: "Change (in the House of Flies)"
About 25 years late to the party on this one! I liked Change a lot at the time, but I guess I lumped Deftones in with the nu-metal bands, and never bothered to check out the rest of the album. It's pretty good!

Japanese Breakfast - For Melancholy Brunettes (& sad women)
Favorite track: "Honey Water"
...pretty good album for sad men, too! Seeing her/them tonight. First show I'll have seen, almost unbelievably, since before the pandemic. Looking forward to it.

R.E.M. - Automatic for the People
Favorite track: "Sweetness Follows"
Like Kid A, what else is there to say about this one? Every track is good. I saw a bunch of deer in someone's yard as soon as "Find the River" started. Beautiful moment, beautiful song, beautiful album.

Tennis - Face Down in the Garden
Favorite track: "12 Blown Tires"
I love Tennis. I've loved every one of their albums. This one is no different. If this is indeed their last album, they definitely went out on a high note.

Weyes Blood - And in the Darkness, Hearts Aglow
Favorite track: "It's Not Just Me, It's Everybody"
Kind of like with Neko, this was not as immediately compelling to me as her last album Titanic Rising was. Needs another couple of listens.

Neko Case - Neon Grey Midnight Green
Favorite track - "Destination"
Not a lot to say here. Did not immediately grab me the way some of her other albums did. Need to give it another listen or two.

Geese - Getting Killed
Favorite track - "Islands of Man"
This is like the hot album of the moment! It was pretty good! Singer has a bit of a David Byrne vibe, and the rhythm section really stood out. Fun album. Never heard of Geese until now - need to check out their other stuff.

Radiohead - Kid A
Favorite track - "Optimistic"
I don't know what to say about Kid A that hasn't already been said. It came out 25 years ago this month, and it's one of those albums that I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I first heard it.

Jeff Tweedy - Twilight Override
Favorite track - "Enough"
For someone who thinks Tweedy's probably released way too much material over the last ten years or so, I'm surprised at how little filler is on this triple album. It's really solid!
Seeing him next month. Can't wait.
