i suspect there’s some truth to this and also why we should be EXTREMELY skeptical that senate dems as currently constituted would ditch the filibuster should they ever have a trifecta again

Odds are this aggressively did not happen. But it would of course be just as unconstitutional to spend money donated to the government without a duly enacted appropriation as it is to spend tax money that way.

@patrickwyman.bsky.social If there are 1000s of cuneiform tablets sitting in archives waiting to be studied, that seems like an awesome use case for an AI tool. Sounds like there’s loads of training data out there, and that’s the sort of thing that machine learning would be great at churning thru.

Um, ICE just coldly shot an unarmed PRIEST in the head w a pepper ball when he (and everyone around him) clearly posed no threat.

Pretty clear Stephen Miller, Noem, Hegseth and Trump are trying to provoke a Civil War at this point. What's interesting is they want to do it now, because even though they're unpopular, they seem to believe this is the most popular they'll be ever again. We can't let them win.

The gap between what the right thinks happens on college campuses and what actually happens is absurd. I had some great students and some awful ones; we talked about some difficult topics, from sexual violence to capitalism to exploitation; it was fine. Nobody lost their shit, because we're adults.
