I am now in the Bluesky mine. There'll be food on the table tonight.
Your car may have climbed Mount Washington, but it certainly doesn’t know how to merge.

I hope you were able to tune into CJSR today to hear this week's edition of Fervor Coulee's Rootsicana & Bluegrass. If not, here's what you missed:

A $2 find last weekend at the rock expo.

Loudon Wainwright III
Final Exam
1978

From Wiki:
In 1995, Wainwright acknowledged that it was his least favorite of his albums. 🤷‍♂️

Another $1 pickup from the rock expo last weekend. Anytime I can find me some Messiahs I'm in! This promo 12" single has an extended version of "I Wanna Be a Flintstone" with some TV dialogue from the Gruesomes' episode.

Another $1 pickup from the rock expo this past weekend. I will never pass up some solo Robbie.

🔸Robbers can't get their helicopter started on the beach. Frank, up on a pier, calls out to them, "Hey, are you looking for this? Come and get it!" (He's holding a part for the helicopter ignition.) One guy replies, "We're coming, buster!"

The soundtrack for Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, titled The End Continues, was released on September 12, 2025, and is available in a 181-gram vinyl format. 😆

A $3 pickup from the rock expo this past weekend. I used to have this on cassette. Such a great pop album!

Picked up some things from a music expo near me on Friday including this gem for $2. Two 10" records. Dave and Phil Alvin sing the songs of blues singer Big Bill Broonzy.

From my collection...
Eddy Grant
Walking on Sunshine

Epic/Ice

Chick Corea was never a divided Corea. No North, no South. Just a single unified Corea.

I said it before, but this is a fantastic live album! More people need to get Sleepy.

Another LP from my collection. Nothing like some '80s Dutch rock with Henk Jonkers and Geert de Groot. Produced by Vic Maile who also worked with The Godfathers and The Screaming Blue Messiahs.

Some Scottish pop perfection from my collection.

Deacon Blue
Raintown (1988)
October 1, 2025 at 12:23 AM
Some Cope from my collection. This doesn't reach the heights of his magnificent Saint Julian, but it's decent and a move towards a more commercial sound.

Julian Cope
My Nation Underground (1988)

And more Clash from my collection.

"This Is Radio Clash" 12" single b/w "Outside Broadcast" (1981)

Love the A side no doubt! The B side is unnecessary. A deconstructed mess imo.

One would think this was from The Onion, but, alas, no.
September 24, 2025 at 10:16 PM
More Clash from my collection.

"Rock the Casbah" 12" single b/w "Mustapha Dance" (1982)

Synchronicity by The Police was available in 36 cover variations, with different arrangements of the color stripes and showing different photographs of the band members. And the original record vinyl is purple (purple color only seen when held up to a light bulb).

A necessity in my collection.

The Clash
Combat Rock (1982)

The last album before Mick was kicked out.

I had the CD since the '80s, but got the record from my brother when he was getting rid of his small record collection.

More from my collection...

Rosanne Cash
Somewhere in the Stars (1982)

Bought this one off of my buddy Bob when he was selling off his collection and I had it bad for Rosanne. 😁 She covers two songs by John Hiatt on this one and that's all goodness to me!

It's always nice when a record guy shows up at the community yard sale in a supermarket parking lot.

New to #RecordsOnTheShelf

Loudon's Therapy cost me $6, but I pulled the other one from the dollar bin. I also picked up the Insiders from the dollar bin.
