While we’ve all been watching the cost of living go up over the past few years — San Jose has been doing something about it. In 2024, 70,000 SJCE customers saved $24 million — and low-income families got an additional $6M off their bills. Our city is helping residents go green while saving green!

Nice job SJPD! We’re getting ghost guns off our streets before they’ve even been manufactured.

This year, we’re going BIG. To celebrate the incredible progress we’ve made and prepare to be on the world stage in 2026, our State of the City this year is going to show what summer in San Jose looks like.

Space is limited — RSVP now: qrco.de/SOTC2025!

Once we move everyone indoors within that local preference zone, we have to preserve our progress. That’s why we posted signage demarcating a No Encampment Zone around the new Branham Lane site yesterday.

When I became a Councilmember, the corner of Branham and Monterey in District 10 was the #1 source of complaints sent to our office. A major encampment on this vacant lot had fires, trash, noise, and a lot of angry neighbors.

Our State of the City is on May 17 at Arena Green East — and you’re invited! We’re keeping the speeches short and focusing on what matters: making San José safer, cleaner, and more vibrant.

I’ve never seen this many people at City Hall — I guess FISHER is a bigger draw than our weekly council meetings 😂

Thanks to San José Foos for bringing thousands to experience all our downtown has to offer. Excited to continue making room for large events like this one as we approach 2026!

Yesterday, we announced a proposal to hold elected officials and senior city staff accountable for results on the issues that matter most to our residents. Because if we aren’t making progress, we shouldn’t be getting pay raises.

Homelessness can’t be a choice. Especially when over 200 people die on the streets each year. Especially when it’s harming the broader community — shuttering small businesses and costing taxpayers tens of millions each year. Especially when we’re offering a safe, private, dignified alternative.

Excite Ballpark has been a home for the San Jose Giants in San José for generations—and thanks to the agreement we passed, it will be for at least 25 more years!

ICYMI: Earlier this week, we launched Homeward Bound, a new pilot program to help homeless residents in San José reconnect with family and loved ones. We’re giving those ready for a fresh start a pathway home—a chance to reunite with support networks and find stable housing.
