In 1842, Preston banker Hesketh Fleetwood, who owned a lot of land in the village, built Lindeth Tower in Tower House’s private garden near Gibraltar Farm on Lindeth Road.
Lindeth Tower provided inspiration for 19th century author Elizabeth Gaskell. She used the four-storey tower in the 1840s and 50s when she escaped the Manchester smog to

When Arctic Monkeys 1st album had just come out, was on a train in Sussex hearing a young lad try and sing with the accent - it did not go well.
I can say this because I was born in the South West but was living in the North West as a teenager when Oasis were new so probably did similar myself.

I guess living in my bit of Sheffield means they are very much in the minority here which makes me lucky I guess.
