Currently feeling sorry for myself as I’ve had an MS relapse and am on a course of steroids. On the plus side I’m enjoying a glass of 12 year old Cragganmore.

30 years ago I helped create the Liverpool music magazine Ultramotive. It lead to many adventures, most of which are now memories, some of which are long forgotten. So it was really nice earlier to be able to reminisce about being part of the music industry in the nineties.

The first time I ever wrote anything that got printed. I got sent the games (for free) by the magazine to provide tips on. I was only fourteen at the time. Getting free stuff in exchange for writing was something I would go on to do (a lot).

Four months ago my oldest and closest friend died of cancer. Today would have been her 53rd birthday. She was brilliant, opinionated, uncompromising, tactless and I’m still angry that she has gone.
