Ahh, we had that a few weeks ago too. Someone reached out for a CMS migration audit. The CSS and JS files were stored elsewhere luckily, but all images were stored in /resources/ so all images were removed from the index (Google Images + image SERP features).

@andrewdyster.com it was on the instruction of an in-house “SEO Lead” who was concerned about crawl budget. In fairness, crawl budget is an issue as it’s a HUGE site, but that certainly wasn’t the solution 😂

I got a call yesterday on my personal mobile phone after visiting a website selling laptops. It’s illegal to do that in the UK due to GDRP. It’s not only creepy, but super invasive @darrenshawseo.bsky.social
