The UK internet just being full of embedded images replaced with "Content not viewable in your region" these days really has a totalitarian vibe to it.

It makes me really sad looking at musescore and dreading having to open it for anything. I remember rather enjoying messing around with it as a kid but now with how it's been redesigned it runs like a bitcoin miner and you gotta hunt around in task manager to actually close it when you're done.

As a dev, and passionate about games as an art form, I think it's important to share the word about the #StopKillingGames campaign.

The art we love, and the art we work on should not be so easy to destroy. sign if you can or share with the #StopKillingGames tag if you can't www.stopkillinggames.com

I'm doing some moodboarding for a project and needed to track down some old obnoxious banner ads old internet style, so I went on the seediest websites I could find... and there was genuinely nothing.
Then I remembered FANDOM wikis exist and genuinely keep on getting worse to look at every time.

There's a fundraiser here to send a bunch of underprivileged kids to go see "Superman", and they're only halfway.

It's "Superman"! It's kids! This is important, people!
We’re only $70 away from hitting $8.5K in donations and have a real shot of reaching 9K before the week ends. Help us bring the joy of movies to as many underprivileged kids as possible! #Superman  #LookUp @jamesgunn.bsky.social

No one likes potholes, no one wants potholes.
Maybe we should put a tax on heavier vehicles that cause potholes to pay for fixing the potholes that they keep causing?

(exemptions for motorways or something so road freight can still get by fine but is discouraged from driving through town centres?)

Ah god! Agh! Listen, right listen:

This is why the curtains are blue. It's not because you're expected to pick apart a code, it's because it's just more interesting.

Every single time I've been stuck on description it was because I was bored, so I always change what I'm writing to something >>
Yes, I think a lot about this self-pub writer who said they use AI to write things like "setting" and "description" which they don't find interesting instead of... figuring out how to write something interesting?

Webp is great because we already had programs that could recognize and work with every other image format so this adds a little mystery to every fucking interaction with an image that's so much more exciting than when things worked.

As you probably heard, Amazon is coming for Ireland. It’ll come for our small shops, it’ll come for our department stores, and it’ll come for our media, our journalism, and our democracy.

IDK if it's just me but does it seem like a lot of the time wikipedia's Notability rules are just used as a blugeon against acknowledging "new" media (the internet has been here for decades) and niche/outsider media as worthy of documenting. I don't think it's solely deliberate, usually misguided.

Thinking about it, it's kinda interesting how transformers have souls and sometimes they are their souls but sometimes their personality or soul can be swapped independently no issue, and both are equally valid and practically applicable interpretations of how sparks work within the same continuity.

No, not Monster Hunter. More like if humans were the size of mice but still had to domesticate the auroch and also cows are the only thing that makes copper.
