Study compared junior cyclists who signed with a U23 team vs. those who didn’t. No major differences in absolute performance, but U23-bound cyclists had higher relative power and peak oxygen uptake.

Comparison of U23 cyclists who turned pro vs. those who didn't. Elite riders had higher absolute power outputs, greater training volume, and superior race performance. Suggestion: workload management was key factor in progressing to the elite level.

Effects of Flat and Uphill Cycling on the Power-Duration Relationship

Trained cyclists did 10, 4, and 1min efforts on flat and uphill terrain. CP was similar, but W’ and 1min power were higher uphill. Suggests gradient affects power-duration relationship.
