In honor of my recent academic promotion, I got to choose a book for our library to buy and put a bookplate in, so I chose this book by Greg Wilson. Tonight was the ceremony for me and the other 145 people promoted this year, where I got to see it in person.

It is the year 2025 and some companies still have "show up to a physical store" as the only, apparently working, way to verify your identity to make a purchase. :/

Python 3.14 has been released two days ago. At the same time, we also uploaded a build of it to @conda-forge.org and about 40% of Python version dependent (mostly those with compiled code) were immediately available. See conda-forge.org/blog/2025/10...
