The last of the Thanksgiving turkey is becoming Turkey Tetrazzini (with spinach instead of mushrooms) and listening to George Winston and Vince Guaraldi while counting down the days until we head to the Washington coast for a late-December retreat overlooking the ocean with a fireplace and a dog.

My company has a half-day holiday the day before Thanksgiving - I ended up leaving at 11:30 after seven hours, but was still home by noon and have a four and a half day holiday. Two Thanksgiving dinners coming up - one at a neighbor’s, one at our house. Let the cooking begin.
