Happy that another beautiful collaboration between my team and colleagues at the @esrf.fr and @kit.edu resulted in a very interesting discovery about superconducting cuprates now published in Nature Communications!
We used resonant x-ray scattering to show that charge order in YBa₂Cu₄O₈ emerges as a sharp transition at T=200K, coinciding with the pseudogap onset, challenging previous assumptions about the emergence of charge order in high-temperature superconductors. www.fkf.mpg.de/8686870/2025...

Thrilled to share that our years-long investigation of charge density waves competing with superconductivity in a model cuprate under uniaxial pressure has been published in Phys. Rev. B and highlighted as Editors’ Suggestion! I’d like to thank all my co-authors in this extensive collaboration!
In collaboration with MPI CPfS, KIT and HZB we used resonant x-ray scattering to study the uniaxial stress response of charge density waves correlations in YBa₂Cu₃O₆₊ₓ, revealing new insights into their physics and competition with superconductivity.
