We acquired (with the landowner’s permission) three of the biggest Giant Puffballs, we’ve ever seen. Delicious fried-up in bacon fat!

Popped into a Maison de la Presse for some light holiday reading and came away with something much more worthwhile. Marc Bloch was executed by the Gestapo on 16th June 1944; he is due to be elevated to the Panthéon on that anniversary next year.

Norman tat: Ashtray (no-one in the household smokes); plate (cat damaged); woven plaque (wall-hanging); T-shirt (bought two decades ago at the Bayeux museum and worn at every possible ‘Norman’ event). The other three items are charity shop purchases.

Frühlingsfrösche!

During my truncated visit I didn’t have much time to wander around the site, but I did take the opportunity to visit the delightful little 13thc. church of St Nicholas in Arne. He is a patron saint of children, but also anyone who risks their lives at sea (in this case, nearby Poole harbour).

What a difference three weeks makes. 😀

The only piece of cheer in a winter garden. 🙂
