My husband and I attended a "Bloody Berlin" historic walking tour last night through the Schneider Haus.
I learned that Louis Armstrong had played publicly for 3 hours while staying at The Walper Hotel!

I watched this monarch in front of my mother's house this morning for 5 minutes. I planted a number of native plants I bought from Evergreen Brickworks about 15 years ago.
She's sold her house in Scarborough so I'll also be saying goodbye to these flowers at the end of September.

Yesterday, I went out to the Blair Flats, Cambridge, as a volunteer to help with butterfly monitoring for @raresites.bsky.social. We walked through lots of tall grasses and measured using Pollard walk (transact method used traditionally for butterflies).

Lead my first paid nature walk today. Took a small group in the morning to #HuronNaturalArea, #Kitchener before the heat ramped up
#Birds: We saw great blue herons, pileated woodpeckers, American goldfinches, northern house wrens, cardinals and even an indigo bunting.
Everyone had fun!
