Happily it is still clamped to the carbon fibre rod. It is "only" the wires that are bent. There was a big label next to it, saying what it was and who had made it, so this could have been avoided...So lucky that I ran into someone who knew what I was talking about and recalled seeing it on a shelf.

Only someone who has made one, and successfully manipulated it into shape can truly appreciate the severity of this.

Hidden Figures (the book) by Margot Shetterly. I loved The Glass Universe by Dava Sobel, but perhaps astronomy is a bit of a stretch.

I heard him interviewed on the radio, when he said these words, on the way to my 87 year old father's house, and I could clearly imagine the disruption. My father's concern for him was the travel to receive the prize!

Congratulations @mathgrrl.com It must be said that getting a piece of crochet to Paris by way of the USA from Australia is perhaps inefficient, but I do love a good collaborative project.
