🔃 Trade agreements are increasingly seen as tools to facilitate the trade of low-carbon products, like green steel.

But mass balance, a way of mixing clean and conventional production methods, could undermine those trade measures.

It's #InternationalEwasteDay & @microsoft.com is making up to 400 million computers obsolete.

From today👇

💻 No more #Windows10 automatic support for all PCs
🗑️ #ewaste could jump by 700 million kg

We need laws that make companies provide software & support for the full lifetime of their products.

🚨 The EU has just classified fossil-based #hydrogen projects using #CCS as ‘low-carbon’.

However, the chosen definition is based on estimated #methane emission values that are too low, which will lock Europe into continued fossil fuel use.

Not all #hydrogen is created equal ⚖️ From high to low, emissions vary.

😈 The devil is in the definitions — and the EU’s Low-Carbon Fuels Delegated Act is about to set them.

The big question: what kinds of hydrogen should qualify as ‘low-carbon’? 🤔👇

🔥 Wood stoves: romantic, rustic, and deadly.

Wood burning is the EU’s top source of fine particle pollution (PM2.5) from energy.

A new EEB study shows that mandatory filters on new stoves could slash toxic emissions by 70% – at a cost of less than 0.5% of annual household income.
