Hiya, I bought your book and it was such a pleasant read. I finished it before Itagaki's passing, and your words made me appreciate his life and works even more.

There's a small collection of posts on Twitter about his memorial service, and I noticed your book was there! I'm sure he loved it.

I do not guarantee that the translation is perfect or at the level of a true English author. That's not the point: I started from the principle that since this is an educational book, the most important thing is that the ideas are understood. Having said that, I think the translation is fine.

First of all, a little clarification about this approach: Since Tomonobu #Itagaki likes bets, and this book is a bet in itself, I thought I should go all out. I thought it would be a shame to analyze #DOA, Dead or Alive Xtreme, #NinjaGaiden, #DevilsThird...

Je remercie évidemment Monsieur Itagaki pour nos échanges précieux, qui ont transformé ce travail qui me tenait déjà à cœur en une expérience incroyable ; ainsi que Georges "Jay" Grouard qui a très bien cerné le livre et sa démarche (très personnelle).

Ce livre a été pensé comme un gros pari — une notion qui est d'ailleurs chère à Tomonobu Itagaki.

C'est mon ouvrage le plus personnel, dans la mesure où il concerne une série (un genre) dont je suis vraiment fan ; tout en explorant d'autres sujets. C'est un projet qui m'a pris deux ans et demi, et qui est marqué par la nostalgie et un goût pour la liberté (d'où le choix de l'autoédition).

- Disponible au format broché (couverture souple) et Kindle. Une édition avec couverture rigide devrait voir le jour, mais celle-ci coûtera très cher (44,90 euros). Pour l'instant, Amazon me l'a bloque pour d'obscures raisons. Sachez que l'édition de base est celle de la raison selon moi.
