This is a light guide fixture I made for testing pulse oximeters. Has a little bit of a flux capacitor vibe.

Perhaps a little off topic but this is my latest "how does YouTube not notice these stupid scam ads." This one isn't as demonstrably porny.

I'll stop now.

Tangentially speaking I'm a bit disappointed the glass on the right side end needed upending.

In my boozie nightcap, a tiny heart. Marigold petals are so beautiful.

Oops! I always think I have this thought out before I post. Thanks.

I think this is it. F branches to T and X with single square moves. X and T both have two square moves to W. X moves are symmetrical though.

Seems like a reasonable math art abstraction to play with in air dry clay and acrylic paints.

also - I think the pentominoes I sketched in a spreadsheet are the "minimum moves of squares" pentominoes. If you start with "I" anyway.

Hey all my Blue Sky math and more pals. I would not have done this silly bit of pentomino python without your pleasant correspondence on mathematics, programming and being nice person.

I tweaked somebody's(link in replies) pentomino solver to work from unique X piece placements.

The "The Wild One" jacket adds to the emphasis.

It's my birthday season! I made Labor Day - Thanksgiving a special celebratory season for autumn bday folks like me.

Helps with scheduling to have ~90 days available for special dinner/drinks/coffee dates.

I am at least 50% hobbit so treats are on me.

I have a similar vibe for the Soma Cube. I love finding the beautiful structure hiding in them.

Super moon night.
And now?
Moon Cake of course.
Harvest moon at any rate.
Apples from a friend's tree in egg, honey and Bisquick.

First moon pic with inexpensive telescope and handheld cellphone.
Going to get some filters (the physical object kind) and sort out a better camera thing.

Bonus - a woman at the lake(lady of?!?) helped me find and focus on Saturn at x60 magnification! Could just make out the rings.

Thank you for your astronomical inspiration!

Some of my favorite families. Not shown here but there is a "null" family. All of conditions needed exist for a Soma Cube to happen but it doesn't. Weird stuff.

Air dry clay math fun. The "amplituhedron" (not to scale, yet) of a simple four piece tiling puzzle called SIXL(six unique tilings).

Thanks @quantamagazine.bsky.social for the amplituhedron article(link in comments).
