BYD redesigned their Blade batteries to lower the cell’s internal resistance and therefore allow for:

• 1MW charging power
• Adding 400km of range for 5min of charging

For comparison, Tesla Supercharger V4 will aim for 1.2MW, as announced back in November.

This really captures the big difference of an industry in full swing and a nascent one. While Chinese cell makers every year introduce higher C rates, lower cost, higher specific energy etc, all backed up with clear data, European cell makers remains at ”we will soon make cells”.

Germany's #EV registrations rose by 53.5% in January 2025, reaching 34,498 vehicles % a 16.6% market share. Plug-in hybrids increased 23.1%, while petrol & diesel cars declined. Tesla led but saw reduced sales, with MG & Polestar growing. The overall market contracted 2.8%. Will 2025 be resurgent?

Lord Toby Young has posted a rehashing of the "CO2 is saturated" meme. It sounds plausible, and some eminent scientists believed it back in history. But we've known for 100 years that the atmosphere isn't saturated with CO2

And one very simple observation shows it beyond doubt.
