Sugar and complex carbs for the first time and go through a lot of behavioral struggles. They’re literally in detox not to mention how suddenly going without consistent meals is a really tough spot to be in. It always warmed my heart to see the old timers (kids who had been there for a long time)

I bet. Things that people take for granted as staples are often huge deals for kids (and adults!) who are used to going without. It’s usually quite a bit harder for those who are new to poverty and food insecurity because they aren’t used to going without. Kids especially. Some go without -cont

I’ve seen Folgers, but never filters. I’ve seen discounted holiday themed herbal tea, and I always pick up honey and chamomile to personally donate because sometimes that’s all they have to treat croupy kids. Kleenex is welcome too.
