1. More Americans work at the Cheesecake Factory than in the entire coal industry, and that won't change. It's because of automation, not snooty libs.

2. Coal energy is now more expensive than wind and solar.

3. So this means: higher energy prices, more pollution, no jobs benefit. Genius!
Energy Secretary Chris Wright on Fox: "We're announcing today expanded programs to help the American coal industry. We're helping it because for years it has been under assault. It was out of fashion with the chardonnay set in San Francisco, Boulder, and NYC ... coal just makes the world go round."

Time and again this happens: Dems refuse to fight, or fight in the most weak-kneed way possible, then construct a narrative where they actually lost the fight, which then becomes an excuse to not pursue future fights.

One of the largest websites on earth, the biggest hub for political and journalistic communication, its owner has transformed into the largest global outlet for violent white supremacy and antisemitism to exist in human history.. and all those politicians and journalists just don’t talk about it.
Weird how there are multiple news stories about how Bluesky is kind of rude to centrists and almost no news stories about how Twitter is now so racist it would make a Klan rally blush.
Twitter has become a terminal cancer for our country, a neverending crisis pouring the worst kind of bigotry imaginable into the public mind, and no one will even talk about it. Most of our elites in journalism and politics still rely on it!

I mean, imagine admitting, out loud, to an audience, "I wanted to destroy Medicaid until *my* family needed it."

I mean, maybe as a confessional -- confessing how broken & cruel you were, apologizing, seeking forgiveness. But that's not the tone! She's *proud* of it. She sees no problem!

Sometimes I think back to Michelle Obama's 2024 convention speech, wherein she said (paraphrasing), "you *know* they hate women, you *know* they want to take away our rights, please, I beg you, take us & our lives seriously."

It was such a raw, naked plea & America rejected it so decisively.

Anyway, to summarize/conclude: this silly Sweeney cycle, wherein a largely imaginary lib backlash leads to weeks of everyone shitting on Dems, is the entire last decade of US politics in miniature. Dems are forced to answer for any & every rando that anyone can find online ...

Everyone gets what they want out of it:
1. The right gets to put Dems on the back foot again, forcing them to address nonsense designed to make them look bad.
2. The reactionary centrist media machine, awash in old-guy donor money, gets content.
3. Dem elites & consultants get to shit on the left.

The thing is, social media is vast. No matter what you say or do, you can find *someone* out there objecting to it on "woke" grounds. You just need to find two or three random comments, attribute the sentiment to "Democrats," & then demand that a bunch of Dems respond to it.

Best mental reset l've learned:

If your mind is loud - Write.
If your mind is empty - Read.
If your mind is racing - Walk.
If your mind is tired - Sleep.
If your mind is sharp - Build.
Most problems are just mismatched energy.
Get the inputs right, the rest follows.

Statistically no change in demand to date on California's main grid in 2025 vs 2024 or 2023.

Largely due to behind-the-meter rooftop PV reducing the need for grid electricity.

And fossil gas is down 40% vs 2023 and 19% v 2024.

Yet, the grid stays stable.
