It brings me joy when Mecha series have a wide variety of machines in different sizes to emphasize the scale of everything. Gundam doesn't do this as often as I'd like but there are some great examples in the 1/144 (HG) line and in Zeta and ZZ

Some of the games and animated stuff, based on the movies but with more book influence, actually address the existence of the other aliens in the universe, such as the "Skinnies". Despite not even being able to breathe the same atmosphere as humans, they work together against the arachnid bugs.

I personally love the 2nd Starship Troopers movie, but I hope the new movie will put the series in a better light, unlike the popularized trilogy.

There was an anime version of Starship Troopers, (before the "um actually the book i never read is is fascist" director's movie) and it was quite cool. It inspired lots of cool stuff. And the "mobile infantry" had cool powersuits instead of just being normal foot soldiers.

Before i get jumped cause "Muh Facism", the original movie was made by a guy who never even read the book the movie was supposed to be based on, which is a story where humans are in an alliance with other aliens who fight against one common enemy: an evil space bug hivemind that consumes all.
