Because of my job I was actually able to listen to a bunch of audiobooks this year along with my usual paltry reading so I put together some of my faves here ✌️
My favorite fiction books of 2024. My top book of the year was A Collapse of Horses by Brian Evenson. The other four are Embassytown by China Miéville, Between Two Fires by Christopher Buehlman, The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson, and Absolution by Jeff Vandermeer. My favorite nonfiction books of 2024. How to Hide an Empire by Daniel Immerwahr, Crossings: How Road Ecology Is Shaping The Future of Our Plant by Ben Goldfarb, I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy, The Spectacle of the Void by David Peak, and The Jarkarta Method by Vincent Bevins

Wish I could stay forever

Little worlds

From 2022: I had a dream that I found a siphonophore on the beach. Each zooid had a small photo in it with a date written on the front, all ordered chronologically. The first one was dated 1927 and the last one was dated 1987
