Yesterday I bought a cup of coffee for $3

I now have a $3 trade deficit with the coffee shop so I am imposing a 50% trade tariff on them.

Today my coffee cost me $4.50

🚨🚨Unless you forgot, #brexit is still a complete & utter disaster for the UK with just a bottomless pit of misery and pain.

Lab position on EU customs arrangement is ludicrous since #brexit given the current economic context makes absolutely no-sense to maintain even for short-term political gains.
Asked whether Trump's trade war means the UK will now consider re-entering a customs union with the EU, Keir Starmer's spokesman replies that "we're not going backwards when it comes to Brexit"

Govt may be relieved that UK faces lower Trump tariffs than others but it’s a trap.
A deal with the unreliable lunatic means lowering standards, betraying our farmers and undermining trust and compatibility for any EU reset which is far more valuable to us. Let’s not fuck this up too.

The stupidity in Trump’s new tariffs is apparently limitless.

He has introduced a 10% tariff on the British Indian Ocean Territory.

The only inhabited island there is Diego Garcia, home to US service personnel.

Despite backing the US in every major conflict this century—and offering to water down our tax on US tech billionaires—we’ve been rewarded with the same tariffs as Iran.

It’s like we’re meant to be grateful Trump gave our friends a black eye and left us with just a wedgie.
