Many interests. Lots to learn. Blessed with a great husband. Enjoying retirement!
Our lovely park here in Whitecourt is well visited. This is the fishing pond for the kids. There is a water splash park, lazy river, play area, fields for games. These kids were catching crayfish. Someone has been introducing them to the trout pond. #FestivalPark #Whitecourt #Alberta

We bought some Asparagus at the local No Frills store that was very good.

Jeffries Bros - Product of Manitoba, Canada.

Pictured here is half of it. This only needed a bit of a trim. LIttle waste.

We are buying Canadian where we can.

The blackbirds have returned. This female red-winged blackbird was singing her little heart out today. I think she was looking for a boyfriend. #MayDay #birds #AthabascaRiver

It was a beautiful weekend for walking. We went down to the #AthabascaRiver Geese are honking. They are looking for nesting spots. Some ducks are back. We didn't see any eagles. Sometimes an eagle will hang around looking for a duck dinner. #Whitecourt #BlueSky #BlueMonday

Happy first day of Spring! Soon we'll see the babies again.

2012 - Carson-Pegasus Provincial Park. These little cuties were along one of the trails in the park.

It was quiet morning in the park - 2016. There was no one else in the park. Not even any dog walkers. It was just me and this heron. It was the first time I had ever seen a #BlueHeron #BlueSkyMonday #birds

I've never seen one of these birds before. It was underneath the Saskatoon bush in our back yard. Our chickadees like to sit in this bush to eat the sunflower seeds and peanuts that we put out for them.

We had a strange little snow fall this afternoon. It didn't last long. The cat is our neighbour's. I think he is called Bruce. Bruce is very friendly and really wanted to come in out of the weather while I was trying to photograph the snow. #Alberta

I like to make one dish meals. I had never heard of Kimchi until recently. So I tried a Kimchi Chicken & Rice dish with lots of vegetables. It turned out good. Chicken cooked in #InstantPot was tender. Onion, garlic, celery, mushroom, peas, corn, carrot. Oyster sauce, lite soy, sesame oil.

#LunarNewYear lunch. We made Chicken Chop Suey and some beef. Grateful to have the ability to shop, chop, cook it all up.

The weather here has been unseasonably warm. The forecast is for snow and cold weather in the next few days.

This little black capped chickadee is a regularat our feeder. He only has the one leg. It will be difficult for him to keep his remaining foot warm in a cold snap. Poor Hoppy!

There were blue skies at the Ellis Bird Farm (now known as Ellis Nature Centre) when we visited there a few years ago. This gem is in Lacombe County, Alberta. #BlueMonday #Alberta

My husband put together these bird feeders a few years ago. It's a very 'rustic' setup, and our birds love it! It caters to small birds so our regulars are chickadees, downy and hairy woodpeckers, white and redbreasted nuthatches. Branches have holes for peanuts. #BadBirdPics
