On a happier note, I was able to channel my creative side amidst all the chaos of last week and make my first newsletter! A lot of members from the SBC I help admin have left FB so I came up with a solution to keep them in the loop on events and book recs. What do you all think?

Unpopular opinion: Onyx Storm isn’t very good. It’s crazy to think this series will be five books long when the story could have been easily condensed down to two.
I have about 180 pages left to go so let’s see if I change my mind, but as of now, I doubt it.

Today marks my first DNF of 2025. I’ve heard a lot of praise for Migrations, but I was bored to tears with this book 😭 I liked the premise - wildlife going extinct because humans will be humans - but nothing about its execution held my interest enough to keep reading.

This book had a beautiful yet bleak portrayal of generational trauma and the long healing journey our FMC goes through to break free from it. A compelling read that I’m sure will stick with me for a long time!
