I live in Oregon, and I’ve been a clay artist since the early 70s. I started as a studio potter, then opened my own gallery. Now, I’m back to the studio. I throw pots, hand-build unique pieces, and love discovering new techniques every day.

Clay structure with stick legs. Flowers sprouting off the roof using nichrome wire. Fired to cone 5. Sections are striped using Amaco underglaze, unglazed. Clay structure elevated with wooden sticks secured in a piece of hardwood with a raw edge. Red roof with crows lined up across the top on the roof ridge using nichrome wire to hold crows onto roof.

I’m playing with some new shapes this week.
I’ve carved into the vase and then applied Amaco black underglaze. Now I’m scraping over the vase exposing the black line. Greenware vase with drawing.
