Prompt in Advanced Functions today: Create 3 exponential equations so that one can be solved using common factoring, one by factoring a quadratic and one using the quadratic formula. Great conversations and some nice questions ensued. ♾️

One student exclaimed "Negatives!" and then, as they would say, they were cooking! And the equation? No problem - two numbers l, x and y, multiplied equal 36. ♾️

In #MTH1W students found 2 numbers that multiplied to 36. Then a list of 10 which became a table. Then they plotted those points. All around the room, the graphs were only in quadrant I. I told them they were missing half of the graph!
