Great article on how a German court has ruled that private companies can be held liable for their share in causing climate damages.
It's the polluter pays principle, and as such should be a no-brainer. But the fossil fuel industry has so far thought to be exempt.

Premier Eby just added that he would like to call a full public inquiry today into mental healthcare gaps that contributed to Lapu-Lapu Day Festival massacre, but doing so would jeopardize the ongoing criminal prosecution of a suspect he characterized as a mass murderer.
B.C.'s Premier David Eby said if criminal investigation into Lapu-Lapu Day Festival attack doesn't produce answers about how criminal justice and mental healthcare systems failed to protect the public then he will call an official inquiry.
