Considering the seller and owner discrepancy I don't even know how hard it'll be to get this in my name (and I can't drive an unplated car legally), and the worst part is is that it wasn't even my own money, so my mom's currently livid at me for not knowing any better. (7/8) 🧵

The A/C isn't cold despite their claims, and there are numerous issues that make this car look more like it was salvaged from a junkyard and repaired instead of being clean, such as the key only works for the ignition and not for the doors. False advertisement. (6/8) 🧵

The VIN matches up with the title I have and what's on the car, but because I don't know anything I didn't take a close enough look to see the odometer was at one point reset and it was actually at 212k miles. The seller also does not match the owner's name on the title. (5/8) 🧵

When I got there, I really didn't know what I was looking for and made a poor choice. My only other experience with cars was my previous one, and the engine felt nice in the test drive. Though the car has no plates and is unregistered, I thought it would be easy to fix. (4/8) 🧵

After several amounts of pressuring from my mom to find a new car, I found a decent looking (on the outside at least in the pictures) car on craigslist with a promising amount of miles (132k). They only ever mentioned the radio face being missing in terms of issues. (3/8) 🧵

I was in the market for cars after my last one (a Ford Escape 2007), despite my best efforts to maintain it, broke down in the middle of the freeway (almost killing me, but that's another story) and was deemed too expensive to repair. (2/8) 🧵
