The McGill Assoc. of Univ. Teachers (MAUT) yesterday *overwhelmingly* endorsed the academic and cultural boycott of Israel, & calls upon McGill to end its partnerships with Israeli universities & other institutions.

("Overwhelmingly" means 104 yea to 8 nay!)

A nice (unwitting) demonstration of the universalizing (if never completed) tendency of basic political rights: if due process is only for citizens, then no citizen has due process, since the police can call them an alien and disappear them without a hearing.

I don't doubt that this trend is significant, but I do doubt that decreased reliance on evidence leads to poor legislative performance. My bet would be on the opposite direction of causation here.
