10: quite enjoying this, and it's making reading kant much easier for me. came across pinkard because i was looking for what version of hegel to read, and he clearly knows his stuff. but from this i mostly wanted to get the idealists other than kant and hegel for context.

9: love the og vampire yuri. gayer than just getting the characters to kiss. feudalism was the real horror all along.

8: i loved it so much and it's such an important work, it speaks for itself. i have nothing else to say but that i wish i'd read it earlier in my life.

7: much to think about. there were parts i disliked because they veered into close to biological determinism territory, but then there's incisive critiques of how we view sex and if liberation is possible. i like her writing style.

6: kinda disappointing. could've been an email. there are some good parts and then there are others where i had to scribble in the margin "is he stupid?" i kinda wish to unread it.

5: ~200 pages in because i wanted to read kant, hegel, and some german idealists before reading some of early Marx. it's a hard read but i'm enjoying it.

4: still on this. wanted something on non-western philosophy as well since i was doing western philosophy, and this came recommended from a friend. really liking it so far.

3: reread this after a decade because i wanted a refresher on western philosophy (specifically epicurus and the hellenistic age) before digging into kant and hegel to be able to get to some of marx's early writings on philosophy.
