The lower part of Dolgoch Falls, on the southern edge of Eryri. No matter how far afield I travel, this will always be one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.

Llyn Barfog, in the hills between Tywyn and Aberdyfi. One of the still points of the turning world.

This pebble-vaulting might interest @jayhulmepoet.bsky.social. St Brelade, Jersey. I've never seen anything like it off this island. It feels crude, earthy, and somehow incredibly moving and holy.

Walking the jagged rocks of the path that traverses the ridge of the Stiperstones hills feels rather as though one is treading on the exposed spine of the Earth

If I understand correctly, the way one can tell an English bluebell from its invasive Spanish cousin is partly the richer colour but mostly the way all the bells hang down one side

Glad I wasn't aware of this being taken at the time, but also glad it was. Thanks #HertsPhil.

Setting up for tonight's #EnfieldChamberOrchestra gig. When there's a harp in the house it's hard to look at anything else...

Lovely rehearsal last night with two young soloists from Enfield Music Service. The Flute and Harp concerto is all about teamwork, and they had it in spades. Saturday will be fun.

Very much enjoying preparing for this. Directing an orchestra from the leader's chair is a very different dynamic from waving a stick at one, both for me and for them - a challenge we are all relishing.

Hugely looking forward to this.

And here it is, as featured on a Pink Floyd album cover! Dr. Phaang objected - NHS dentists were not permitted to advertise - and the image was dropped from British album covers but not American ones.

Three days after the rorchestra.bsky.social concert and I'm still buzzing about it. Searing Franck Symphony. Ellen Baumring-Gledhill's beautiful, passionate Lalo cello concerto. And the extraordinary magic of Lili Boulanger's Matin de Printemps, a whole world in 5 minutes. Bravo to all.

Can recommend this, by Uuno Klami. There's also some nice Melartin out there. Also Kurt Atterberg.
