This pebble-vaulting might interest @jayhulmepoet.bsky.social. St Brelade, Jersey. I've never seen anything like it off this island. It feels crude, earthy, and somehow incredibly moving and holy.

If I understand correctly, the way one can tell an English bluebell from its invasive Spanish cousin is partly the richer colour but mostly the way all the bells hang down one side

Lovely rehearsal last night with two young soloists from Enfield Music Service. The Flute and Harp concerto is all about teamwork, and they had it in spades. Saturday will be fun.

Very much enjoying preparing for this. Directing an orchestra from the leader's chair is a very different dynamic from waving a stick at one, both for me and for them - a challenge we are all relishing.
