Speculation is that ICE could be trying to move people out to clean the holding cells and to set up cots to comply with the latest judicial order to address inhumane conditions inside the facility. The judge is currently scheduled to inspect the facility Thursday morning.

Yes, there’s a reason my child’s first reading tutor (we taught at home with online help) was a retired teacher that wouldn’t touch the “cues” method with a ten foot pole. Phonics all the way.

I believe most schools have abandoned this now (the article is 6 years old), but the damage done is still there. And I’m sure it is still around in some classrooms. But my general read on education right is that they know now it is a bad system.

More States Are Taking Aim at a Controversial Early Reading Method
Lawmakers in some states are trying to ban the "cueing" approach, which asks students to rely on pictures or context clues to identify words.

This is will be the 5th forever chemical they have approved this year, and it takes thousands of years to break down. It cannot be filtered out of water with most filtration methods, and it easily moves throughout the environment via water or in the atmosphere. It is increasingly detected in humans.

Who wants to be an “entrepreneur” to figure out health insurance accounts and negotiate their own rates??!! Who has the time or money for that?

I’m an elder Millennial and even I remember when the cheap shoes were still real leather when I was a kid. Jellies & flip flops were the only ones that were plasticky. But even the cheap flip flops had a nicer texture and thick fabric on the top. They would last through 3+ summers as hand me downs.
