Hey! Yeah, I'm sorry! Mentally I needed a big break, and it's been nice to disconnect. I'm not on social media much anymore, but occasionally I am here!

It IS relaxing! Just out a show on and paint away! Love it. Especially on my new desk! It's a great space for it!

Thanks for having such accessible rules and minis! It's a lot easier to enjoy a new hobby when the barrier of entry is significantly lowered! Hats off to those doing the modeling and 3D printing prep on the models! Great work!

Thanks! Always been intrigued by wargaming, but never had the chance to get into it! Really hoping to get the quickstart models, at least, to the table!

I have been using Linux on and off since I was in high school (over 20 years ago), but only relatively recently (Last 5 years) started using it exclusively at home. For gaming, I would start with something stable and easy to use: POP_OS is a good choice, and I'm using Garuda (Gnome desktop).

BIOS updates are critically overlooked! Very much agree here. Also agree with the memtest recommendation someone else made. And ensure, if there are 4 DIMM slots, that you're using slots 1 and 3, not 1 and 2.

I use Garuda now (GNOME, Not a KDE fan - I know that'll get me crucified), but really enjoyed POP_OS for quite some time. Before that it was all Ubuntu and Mint.

Even if you don't like it, the only thing you'll spend is time. You ARE learning a new OS (and that takes time), but all AMD hardware is a huge plus since most of the drivers for it are built into the kernel (I have a 5600X and a 7800XT). I use Garuda (GNOME), but also really enjoyed POP_OS.

The vast majority of incompatibilities are due to poor implementation of anti-cheat. Proton is an incredible translation layer that does a great job of getting things working as far as game engines and assets go. Anti cheat is where it gets blocked, which is only really a problem in select games.

I think there ARE ways to play Roblox on Linux? I don't know, I'm not into Roblox. But Fortnite is right out because of Epic's choices. And I'd rather my kids have fun memories of playing with friends (Like me with Descent in the dial up days) than force them to use my OS.

As an avid game player who has a decent rig and a 1440p ultrawide monitor: the amount of games I cannot play because I am exclusively Linux is so small that I'd rather do without them than switch. I just beat Cyberpunk 2077, and enjoy everything from Elden Ring to Balatro to Helldivers 2.

Listen, if your unnameable horrors from the firey pits of hell aren't FOSS, you're just a corporate shill.
