I made this exact point in the first letter I sent to my MP and the response received was entirely unhelpful...

"I don't think it's the place of a member of Parliament to comment on these matters – nor do I have relevant expertise. But I have read and noted your comments."

98 days since first writing, I've received a response from my MP @antoniabance.bsky.social to my concerns over the treatment of trans people within the UK.

I shall take time to carefully read/understand its content before drafting my reply.

One has to understand that we are in this for the long run.

There is a lot one can do today, however, unless there is an imposed time limit, it is always ok to take a day to keep oneself in the fightback tomorrow.

One's skillset is not at all useful if they have lost all motivation to use it.

I've been wondering whether they sought prior approval from the 'Head of External Affairs & Communications' at the Supreme Court to use the Supreme Court logo as part of their event...

I just refer to mine as a shork (noun); or Jawsh (proper noun) 🦈

Congratulations on your first and the very best wishes for your second 🎉🎉

I've just (this week) completed my second (technically my fourth; long story) after 12 years of waiting and I am so surprised at how different the clinician experience has been to how it was back in the 2000s/2010s 🙃

I felt her response more than a touch dismissive.

"I appreciated that you shared some very personal details of your life and experiences in your letters – thank you, and please do know that I read them carefully."

Very "dignity and respect" 🙃

Yes, though as I've stated, my experience is purely with a cursory visit to make in person enquiries.

I have zero clue if any of this is codified nor any inclination to act further given I've found a pretty good rhythm between a home gym setup and the outdoors.

I have no regards to actual codified policy, but was informed (by staff; in person) when I asked about rejoining a gym that I had previously been a member of that because the disabled toilet (single) was currently out of order, I could either get changed at home or use the broom cupboard.

I've had to learn how to better manage stress, the most prominent warning sign being my hair starting to grey in my early thirties.

I am (as far as I am aware) the only queer person within my side of the family.

I am certainly the only one whose hair has started to grey before their time.

Everyone with a GRC (myself included) would certainly lose access to fundamental aspects of society if this succeeds (given the digital exclusion from government services).

I don't believe that this is the primary motive, but I would believe that those aforenamed may consider it a benefit...

We enjoyed a small slice with lunch; it was 😋

Thanks to @half-asleep.bsky.social for double checking my maths on this one 😄

That's seriously impressive 😮

Here I am still wondering if 30kg is so far above my current limit that I should go back to using 25kg...

Good idea :)

"If we keep appeasing them and acquiescing to their demands a little more, they'll definitely vote for us and not the other guy."
