In the Dispatch demo I think there was only one (?) place where it said "X will remember this" and it was in an absurd place - I was tempted to believe that it was actually satire of that sort of phrasing.

(Maybe it was, I have no idea)

One thing I noticed watching the newer Star Trek shows is the cold opens are often extremely long and/or have little to do with the rest of the episode - I guess in the move to streaming the necessity for cold opens has been lost so we've forgotten how to do them well.

Making part of the game playable during loading sounds hard, but making the loading just feel cool and satisfying seems like something a lot of games could do if they were so inclined.

Maybe this sounds silly but it hadn't really occurred to me to even try that.

It's interesting that I hear the term a lot regarding competitive games (maybe because those games tend to have many different roles and characters) when there's some tension there as you note.

I'm surprised by how many people are either skeptical or eyes-wide-open (in my view) about the concept. Much of the time when I see "player fantasies" discussed online it's in, for lack of a better term, Linked In verbiage.
