Dad, drummer, robotnik, woke bloke.
So Trump’s inevitable distraction to his Epstein troubles is proposing a Russia-Ukraine ‘peace’ deal that capitulates to his Russian sponsors, can’t possibly be accepted by Ukraine or the EU and may well be a precursor to World War 3. Figures.

One has to wonder whether the Libs - by following last week’s shenanigans in Canberra with the knifing of a leader in Melbourne today - is on a mission to destroy itself. I’ve never cared much for them, but Victoria demonstrates what happens when you have a terminally incompetent opposition.

Two of the biggest take outs from the Albo-Trump AUKUS/rare earth love-in: 1. Trump’s dementia was a factor as he seemingly forgot who Kevin Rudd was. 2. Albo’s snub of John Lyons was appalling. But I guess it’s a sign of the times that apparently the meeting went swimmingly well.

With One America News the only network remaining in The Pentagon, do we now officially proclaim them as the propaganda arm of Trump’s authoritarian regime?
October 16, 2025 at 8:46 PM
Sure, Trump deserves some credit for getting the living hostages home and for strong arming Netanyahu into agreeing to the terms of a glasshouse ceasefire, but claims of enduring peace are ludicrous when Hamas and Israel’s actions have guaranteed conflict in the region for generations.

A party stacked with far right men. A woman leading it from from the sensible centre. Sound sustainable to anyone out there? I can almost guarantee that Ley will be gone and Hastie will be the new leader on this side of six months.

Yes, Trump’s visit to the King nearly made me throw up in my mouth. Fair to say the whole thing was an expensive exercise entirely designed to serve his vanity and own wishes to be crowned. My guess is that the shallow creep is so easily bought, the UK’s ploy will work perfectly.

Dear USA, granted in the ghoulish form of Murdoch and expat Fox flogs like Miranda Devine, we’ve done our fair share of disservice to journalism, but with your mainstream media mostly neutralised by your authoritarian President, you can trust our ABC to remind you what real journalism looks like.
'You're hurting Australia': Trump hits out at ABC journalist, flags Albanese meeting
Donald Trump takes aim at the ABC's Americas Editor during an extraordinary exchange at the White House, as the president suggests he will meet Prime Minister Anthony Albanese "very soon".

Tragic as it undeniably is, Trump almost seems overjoyed at the shooting of Charlie Kirk. He needed a distraction - from Epstein, from Putin’s drones flying over Poland - and this is it.

That @genocidescholars.bsky.social has concluded that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza is much less surprising than the sad fact that an organisation like this even needs to exist.

Leading scholars say Israel committing genocide in Gaza
The International Association of Genocide Scholars says signatories to the genocide convention, including Australia, should prevent arms sales to Israel and uphold international law.

I commend the Australian Government for expelling the Iranian ambassador after a thorough investigation by ASIO into domestic antisemitic attacks. They should now get on with expelling the Israeli ambassador and sanctioning Israel for clearly evident war crimes in Gaza.

Pretty much people as far as the eye can see. At least 100,000 marching for Palestine. Nice work Melbourne.
August 24, 2025 at 11:36 AM
Mr Netanyahu, hesitant to give air to the rantings of an alleged war criminal, but Australians know weak politicians - we threw a bunch out at our last election in May. As for betraying Israel, how’s all that international goodwill you’ve squandered since 7 October panning out for you?
August 19, 2025 at 10:47 PM
Lame indeed. As you would expect of an asset completely owned by Putin. Let’s see him spin his way out of this one.
Putin leaves Alaska with a complete victory after outmanoeuvring Trump
The realities arising from the much-heralded meeting in Alaska between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin are that the war in Ukraine will continue, and yet another US president has been outmanoeuvred.

Yep, there was nothing in the Trump-Putin presser, but it was also one of the greatest diplomatic failures of a US administration we’ve ever seen. It only confirms Trump is owned and will always be owned by Putin. Where that leaves Ukraine is the more worrying question.
August 15, 2025 at 11:53 PM
Perhaps unsurprisingly, despite all the hype, there was almost zero in the Putin-Trump presser - a steaming heap of Russian propaganda and the usual sprinkle of Trump nonsense.

After so long, it must be equal parts exciting and nerve-wracking for Mr Trump to be finally catching up with his master.

A crackdown on crime in DC launched by a convicted felon running the biggest crime syndicate in DC. This is America in 2025.

This is gold. The only way to take on a criminal clown. Pretty much why Newsom is best option to destroy Trump Inc. in 2026 and 2028.

Despite the still tone deaf Australian opposition’s conniptions - the Shadow Attorney General’s current behaviour is not only intellectually and morally bankrupt, it’s embarrassing - recognition of a Palestinian state is not rewarding terrorism. Hamas is not Palestine.
August 11, 2025 at 10:53 PM
Criminal allegations and a cabinet of fascists aside, Netanyahu had the goodwill of the world after 7 October, a goodwill to act decisively and forcefully. But after two years of bombing and starving civilians (and killing over 200 journalists reporting on it), that goodwill is squandered.

As if having a living testament to the ineptness of the electoral college in the Oval Office wasn’t enough, the absurd situation in Texas demands all legislators push for the establishment of an independent, federal-level electoral commission, like we have in Australia. Seriously: wake up America.
August 5, 2025 at 9:27 PM
Oh FFS Albo! No more procrastination and obfuscation. Four truths can coexist. Recognise a Palestinian state. Tell Hamas to go fuck themselves. Sanction and stop selling weapons to the war criminals of the Israeli government. Continue supporting the Israeli people and Israel’s right to exist.
July 27, 2025 at 8:49 PM
Surely with the US applying sanctions on legitimate and respected international law experts while defending and continuing to provide weapons to alleged war criminals, it is time to move the UN out of this pariah state.
July 10, 2025 at 10:16 PM
If Australians are looking for someone to blame for interest rates not going down, blame Trump. As with the Fed in the US, the RBA is only trying to manage inflationary pressures caused by the orange menace’s trade war. It’s unlikely you’ll read this in the corporate media.
