Students in my theology class are reading this amazing and prescient book. Excellent conversation tonight. Lots of good question. Most importantly, students are beginning to ecologize their theological thinking and imaginations.

Beautiful words in tribute to one of the most profound, significant, and influential global theologians of the 20th and early 21st centuries.
What a tremendous life well lived and well loved and well liberated. The people Gutiérrez inspired and touched and freed is innumerable, the children of liberation theology are vast and unstoppable--the reach of liberation theology is continental. Grateful for his witness to Christ FOR the people.
"Gutiérrez...was an icon of 20th century Latin American Catholicism, and for decades, reactions for or against Gutiérrez’s pioneering theology marked the primary fault lines in the church on the continent."
A very fine article, on Gustavo Gutiérrez, by John Allen for Crux.
