Half a million people in London right now. Jewish activists in New York last night. Polls in both countries overwhelmingly support a ceasefire in Gaza. Cannot imagine this level of support even five years ago. Whatever happens, the Palestinians are no longer alone.

If there’s nothing a politician can do to lose your vote (read: literal genocide!) then your vote is already worthless. (It’s also worthless for a number of other reasons.) You should vote on ballot measures and maybe some local offices but don’t support war criminals.

I want so badly to see consequences for the people who’ve cheered on genocide the last few weeks but maybe that’s not the world we live in. If anything people are being rewarded for it. The only people I’ve seen facing consequences are the ones trying to stop it.

Like I know we all think twitter’s downfall is funny, but it does have real world consequences. If/when I have to evacuate my area because of wildfire (highly likely in the next few years given current trends), I actually don’t really know how I will find out I am in danger.
