Buried lede: could end HIV if they charged $50 per dose and not $42,000
This drug is the 'breakthrough of the year' -- and it could mean the end of the HIV epidemic
That's the title that Science magazine is bestowing upon the medication called lenacapavir — a twice yearly injectable that prevents infection by the HIV virus.

Never count @evhead.bsky.social out of the game — he’s back with an old school take on the social network (purposefully not social *media*).

It’s a mix of Plaxo, Dodgeball/Foursquare, Dopplr, what we tried with Zyb/Vodafone360, and more.

It’s making me very nostalgic. ev.medium.com/making-socia...

After years of talking to Trump supporters my view of them has become very simple: They want socialist, even sometimes progressive reforms but they want them from someone who makes those reforms feel powerful and masculine and they want to make sure the people they don't like don't benefit from them

I love the adult jokes in Peppa Pig.

The elephant says: “My dad used to work in a circus. He sold tickets.”

The kids and I definitely got something different out of that.

This is a nice and comprehensive guide to prompting LLMs. It's written as documentation for the "instructor" Python library, but it's good for general use in all LLMs: python.useinstructor.com/prompting/

All jokes aside it's really fucked up to see so many people on here celebrating murder. No one here is the judge of who deserves to live or die. That's the job of the AI algorithm the insurance company designed to maximise profits on your health and no one else

Next year, I'll pay my taxes and get the treatment I need, if and when I need it.

I’m increasingly convinced that the US healthcare system is at the core of the country’s problems.

How can Americans ever develop a true feeling of equality with their neighbor when they don't share this basic right?
Next year, I (1 person) will pay $12,626.28 for health "insurance" and potentially another $8,700 out-of-pocket on top of that. No dental or eye care insurance of course so that's $100s or $1000s more. Beyond ridiculous.
Next year we (2 people) will pay $12,461.28 for health "insurance," and this amount means my insurer will pay for the bare legal minimum of preventive care; anything else we need we will pay out of pocket, until I have paid an additional $8000 for me or $16,000 for the family.

Every day I’m amazed at how we use LLMs for tricky tasks.

My wife bought a full LEGO set for our son, and needed to split it up into 24 small gifts, one for each day until Christmas Eve.

A prompt and two clarifications later, she had a logical way to split it up so he finishes something every day!
