It isn't just America where this is the case.
The biggest problem to me isn't that you have a President doing crazy stuff. The biggest problem is the systematic destruction of the checks and balances that should have kicked in to stop him by now.

We can apppy to join anytime, we can't just rejoin on our previous terms. Why would the EU27 spend resources and time on us whilst prominent Brexiters are still around? The referendum was a farce but sadly it's totally irrelevant now, we're an ex member, we have no special status.
