The sequence of SARSCoV2 was made available on Jan 10 2020. Exactly 11 months later on Dec 11th 2020 the first EUA was issued for an mRNA COVID vaccine.
These vaccines saved over 20 million lives.
None of this would have been possible without NIH funding & dedicated scientists.

Remembering my recent trip to Grand Canyon for my birthday. It reminded me of the long-ago days before my grad school career when I was a park ranger in NW New Mexico, and once hiked all the way down the Grand Canyon and back up in a day. Not advisable! Beautiful, but not to be messed with.
