I faced this treatment most often in my uni days, but sadly it continues to occur today.

This is the way I see it: I don’t care about the colour of your skin, the shape of your body, the type of bits in your knickers, your stage of life; if I likes ya, I likes ya.

So why do this now, given that I’ve been out since my 20s? Bisexual invisibility. Those of us in the bi community need to push back against the tendency of those in both the straight and queer communities to ignore, remove, falsify, or re-explain evidence of bisexuality.

At the time, all of it felt completely normal to me, and as I started relationships later in life, it continued to do so.

The first person I had a crush on was a boy in my grade one class. He smelled nice and he was gentle, not like all of the other boys. The second was a red-headed tomboy in my grade two class who taught me how to properly fall out of a tree (it seems that I discovered my types early in life).
