Actually, thanks to Retro charts radio, I heard "I don't believe in If anymore" by Rog. Wow, I thought to myself. Same thing, but different

Ooh. I found a greatest hits and remix cd set in Oxfam for £2, it is excellent. Gonna need this one...

I wonder if Chris Sievey's alter-ego late night DJ tape(s) will turn up. (Not Frank, obviously).

Oh That's why they're so expensive on eBay

Two band members to Jimmy Rabbite "you were the first one here to tell us about FGTH, and you were the first to tell us that they were shite...."

I'd have been surprised if it wasn't.

I'll flick through the index if there is one

I thought the same thing about the Edwin Starr song of the same name.

In a way, that was the point. I do remember DP (or, the person behind the character) being thoroughly ashamed of himself afterwards.

I can't remember if it was in the film, but it was definitely mentioned in "The Commitments" book, like that.

"EMI", with Steve Jones doing his best Rex Harrison was very good.

They did 'God Save the Queen', the glissando representing Johnny's vocal line was vaguely amusing

My Mum&Dad went to see the stage version when they were on their honeymoon in London (being from SouthShields, LDN was quite exotic in March/April 1960).

Was that the one where the first track is like "Bang bang bang bang..." ? Quite liked that one, don't remember the rest.

Well, I was one of those that got to walk to school in the dark back in the late sixties when they sacked the clockmoving for a few years. It wasn't a great hardship, trade-off for more light in the evenings yeah, good. But, Scotland didn't get out of the darkness in the mornings until quarter to 10

This is true.

Do you remember when they sacked the moving of the clocks for about 4 years? I was too young to know they did this when they started not doing it, and do remember going to school in pitch darkness. Then when they brought it back, I didn't know it was a restart and thought it was a new idea.

Ah lovely! I saw the ad for contribs, but never got around to it.

Spot on about "Two Tribes", always felt that "Sign ☮ the times" was misunderstood in the same way (not least by Simple Minds), it's not that bad things are happening, but people's fascination like crowding round to watch....
September 29, 2025 at 9:16 AM
It does, and Ralph even said "they understood that song"
September 28, 2025 at 2:45 AM
A fair Beatles facsimile there... (The way-outs are rub)

"Would that it were, Mrs Wilson, would that it were..."

Actually, Russ would sound great doing "The Prince"
