I keep complaining about the lack of 3rd-places for children and teens to gather, we just did the debate about malls and how they were really killed by mall cops who essentially heard kids like sheep dogs until they killed the mall.

This is possibly the saddest indictment #louisvilleco could make

Know what's insufferable? Terrible scheduling UX at medical offices.

"Yeah AI will take your job" like hell it will

Try asking the front desk to schedule a double appointment twice a week for the next 6-weeks!

They don't even have basic rules based scheduling ain't no way AI can do this usably.

Here is a fullpage ad by the GOP arguing against tariffs.

I spend a lot of my time in the past. Research is a long drag through nothing and nowhere to look for small clues. Every now and again you get blocked by a huge rock. Today is one of those days, wait 70-years ago the GOP were for high tariff's?

Why do people keep voting Republican?

Share a 90s movie you think deserves more love

The story of Zuckerberg and Facebook. Waiting for the end. Otherwise perfect

Apropos nothing to do with IBM, but I'm finding it very difficult to pin down the year when IBM Kingston closed.

I'm surprised the Kingston wikipedia entry doesn't mention it and more suprised that wikipedia doesn't have a category for ex-company towns. # of people that lose their jobs, staggering

I had major surgery on Wednesday.

Wonder why American healthcare is so expensive?

The wound dressings came with a tablet of sorts. Which basically said nothing. No instructions to return the device, no instructions that couldn't have been printed. My procedure had been declined until last sunday

The John Roberts rule.

I wonder how Roberts sleeps knowing he has unleashed a monster?

I'm at the #louisvilleco state of the city... It's an interesting confluence of post COVID, post marshall fire and city commercial and economic development.

Reading the Denver Post article about the death of the NY semi truck driver who went over the edge at Pagosa Pass on US 60

We really need some alternate transit options, the related articles section shows the scale of the driving problem.

If you see this, post an album cover with a motor vehicle on it.

The environmental claims for a new McStain home in Colorado have barely changed in 10-years which is super disappointing. Basically they have a Nest style thermostat, a gas on demand water heater and insulation. That's what $800,000 buys you. No heat pump, no solar, just the same old same old.

Lots of posts today about Colorado voting for kids school lunches. Shouldn't be a surprise.

Colorado has many programs to benefit the low income. These programs are NOT socialism, they are the exact opposite. Compassion for those not paid enough by rich people. You can't have on without the other.

I wrote to my bank yesterday after this debacle. As a reminder, it's not some weird socialist thing that happens in a couple of small countries. Much of the world has much better banking (MBB) than America. This benefits big business at the cost of small businesses and individuals.
November 4, 2025 at 9:55 PM
While we are busy planning the "After-times" taxing the rich etc. we need to force the banking system to upgrade - even my banks chat help thinks the system is crap.

It's starting to bite. Bankruptcy case, lost their home, clearance junk.

Yeah copilot is the thing for this, after a couple iterations I asked it to make an image square for a end of year vinly album release. Should be in stores before NYE

Dear @propublica.org here's hoping you'll be able to track this back beyond the current leak. We've known about this since 2007, we even made a film about it...

If only this were xitter, I could tag Dell and ask both why did this fail, and how come your software is so useless?*

During an OS recovery where you are told not to reboot or interrupt in case your data is lost.

*10-years ago I was Chief Software architect for Dell.
