This where we’re at now. Is this the future for humanities/English grads? Getting paid to train AI that will replace you, and ultimately kill every creative instinct we have. Dystopian and beyond depressing.

Watched Simon Armitage on his lovely Winter Walks programme on BBC Four earlier (I was lucky enough to interview him earlier this year). The end of the walk was at Robin Hood’s Bay and he recited the last lines of this poem by ee cummings. It really resonated so I went and looked up the rest of it ❤️

It really was something special to perform to a full and very appreciative house at Dennehy’s Cross in Cork last night, as part of the Fleischmann Choir. Made me realise what was taken from us when Covid struck and how much music can lift our hearts and spirits ❤️

Inspired by hearing the brilliant Oliver Jeffers at Dingle Lit yesterday, I dug out some of our collection. This is still an absolute banger, as the kids say.

Delighted to be in the Kingdom for the Dingle Literary Festival. Great to see the Dingle Skellig hotel supporting the Irish Examiner. Plenty of reading in the weekend edition, including my interview with author Kate Summerscale and a lovely Books are my Business with @maireadhearne.bsky.social !
