Each mode serves a different function.

Some are sad, warm, happy, mysterious...

But never tasteless.

A free musician doesn't just use modes—they wield them, mastering every color and emotion they carry.

Internalize them here:

When it comes to groove, banal artists stick to either binary rhythms or ternary rhythms—never both.

You, as a free musician, will blend them.

Divide by 2, divide by 3. Now by 4, then by 6…

Make them dance.

Happy musical day!

Don’t apply too much force with your rhythmic hand.

As a guitarist, most of your precision comes from the hand pressing the frets. Your fingers must flawlessly land on the right strings.

Your rhythmic hand, however, should remain gentle—unless you’re deliberately aiming for an aggressive feel.

The Dorian mode is perfect if you're looking for minor qualities with a sense of freedom and spirituality.

As a minor scale with a major 6th, it preserves the warmth of Mixolydian—without the major 3rd.

Choose a root today.

Movies are the closest thing to music.

Both carry sound and vision.

Pixels create an illusion for your mind.

Imagination is more real than screens.

Musicians,

Stage fright is not your enemy.

It's a message from your body telling you,

"You're not ready, are you?"

Get guidance and practice.

Do you jam along with backing tracks?
January 14, 2025 at 9:35 PM
Musicians, yes, pentatonic scales are amazing.

But they often DEPEND on everything else.

The key, therefore, is to learn brand new scales…

So that you grasp the concept of “RIGHT PENTA RIGHT TIME.”

Do you understand?

Ever notice how the Lydian mode feels so "floaty"? It's the raised 4th—pulling us toward resolution while resisting it. A scale that lives in tension, yet avoids dissonance. #MusicTheory

Ever noticed how the Lydian mode feels "bright"? That sharp 4th isn’t just a quirky interval—it avoids resolution, keeping the harmony floating. ✨ #MusicTheory #Modes

Ever notice how a diminished chord feels unresolved? Add its "missing" root an octave down, and voilà—suddenly, it's a dominant 7th chord in disguise. Harmony is all about context. #MusicTheory

Ever notice how suspended chords (sus2/sus4) feel unresolved yet oddly soothing? It’s tension without drama—a musical "to be continued." Perfect for holding space in cinematic moments or delicate storytelling. #MusicTheory

Ever notice how minor chords can feel sad, yet a minor 7th adds warmth? That extra note (♭7) softens the melancholy, almost like a sigh turning into a hug. Try it: Dm vs. Dm7. #MusicTheory

Ever notice how the Lydian mode feels "unresolved"? It's that #4 scale degree—like it wants to leap forward but lingers just long enough to glow. Perfect for conveying wonder without tension. #MusicTheory
